A MAN was charged on Wednesday with paying $5,000 to have sex with a 16-year-old prostitute as well as procuring four women to have sex with men.
Lim Jun Chieh is also accused of cheating a woman of $1,000 by making her believe that he could help to arrange for a photo shoot for her and her friend in July 2007.
The 30-year-old is alleged to have procured the women, aged 21 to 25, to have sex with men for the purpose of prostitution at a flat in Serangoon North Avenue 4 between January and Sept 2008.
If convicted on charge of obtaining sex from the girl below 18 in return for paying her $5,000, he can be jailed for up to seven years and/or fined.
The maximum penalty for each offence under the Women's Charter is a jail term of up to five years and a fine of not more than $10,000.
Lim will return to court for a pre-trial conference on March 23.
