The Majlis Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) floor leader, Mr Akbaruddin Owaisi, on Monday, warned the Congress of losing the support of Muslims in the 2014 elections if it continued to fail in protecting their interests.
Speaking on demands of welfare departments in the Assembly, the Majlis leader said the government, on one hand, failed to defend its initiatives in the legal battle and cut down allocations for several schemes in 2010-2011 Budget.
Maintaining that not a single day passed without Muslims feeling the absence of former chief minister Dr Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, Mr Owaisi sought to know from Chief Minister, Mr K. Rosaiah, whether his government was sincere in implementing welfare schemes. He referred to the government marking zero allocations for several schemes which got funds last year.
