Lost two fingers

A two-year-old girl, nicknamed Leilei, lost two fingers of her left hand when her father, Wang Ai, bit them off while drunk, gog.com.cn, a news website based in Guizhou reported on Tuesday.

Leilei received medical treatment for the hand and her cheek, which was also bitten by her father, in Guiyang, South-west China's Guizhou province.

Wang Ai told the police after his arrest that he was drunk when Leilei started crying and scratching his face.

That is when he bit her fingers and her cheek, he said.

Teen murder

Police uncovered this shocking discovery following the arrest of five men aged between 17 and 40 during investigations into the murder of C. Sivanranjini, 18, on Jan 12.

The six were arrested in a series of raids in Kempas following the murder.

It is learnt that the teenager dropped by Sivanranjini’s home when the victim, the eldest amongst three siblings, was alone while her parents were at work in Singapore.

Sources said the teenager asked his schoolmate to be his girlfriend but she refused alleging that he had some disease all over his body and was not from a good family.

The teenager, who could not stand the rejection, then grabbed a kitchen knife to slit her throat and stabbed the girl to death before fleeing.

A special taskforce formed to investigate the case led to the arrest of five suspects including the teenager. Some of those arrested also tested positive for drugs.

It is learnt that the teenager had previously been a resident in a juvenile home.

Johor CID chief Senior Asst Comm II Datuk Amer Awal confirmed that five people had been arrested.
