Julianne Moore married for kids'sake

Hollywood beauty Julianne Moore was a firm non-believer in marriage but changed her mind after realising that the bond was important for her two children.

The Boogie Nights actress refused to marry director Bart Freundlich, despite a 13-year-long relationship until she was advised their union would help raise their children better, reported Contactmusic.

The redhead beauty whose first marriage to actor John Gould Rubin ended in 1995 had vowed never to walk down the aisle again.

But Moore changed her mind after an eye-opening therapy session in 2003, following the birth of her second baby with Freundlich.

"For me the only reason to get married was my children. I had a therapist who said marriage is really a container for a family," said Moore, who shares 12-year-old son Caleb and seven-year-old daughter Liv with the filmmaker, now admits her second marriage is a grounding force amid her hectic Hollywood lifestyle.

"Freud says you need love and work, and a family and a job give you a balance... One element can't give you everything. You can have friends in movies and plays you make, but they're not your family. And you can't expect family to give you the stimulation work is going to provide, because that is not their responsibility," said the actress.
