Trisha’s mobile phone has not stopped ringing and her inbox is jammed with praise for her role in VTV.
“I am still replying to the many congratulatory mails ever since Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya released. I have never received the kind of response I am getting for this film in my career spanning 35 films,” exclaims a jubilant Trisha. “It is rare to get offbeat roles like Jessie,” she adds.
When asked if she would agree to a liplock in future films, her take is, “I’ve never had a problem doing such scenes. However it all depends upon the script and the director I am working with.”
She believes she has reached a stage in her career where she can take a call on such scenes. “If I am not comfortable doing a kissing scene or wearing a swimsuit in any particular film, I am in a position to decline it,” she asserts.
So is it true that she walked out of Ravi Teja’s Don Seenu and was replaced by Shriya? “Yeah, I opted out because they wanted my bulk dates in April which were already committed to Priyan sir for an Akki film. I explained my position and we parted amicably. I don’t know if Shriya has been brought on board now.”
Talking about her next film Yaavarum Kelir with Kamal Haasan. She laughs as she recalls that “Kamal sir” called her personally and narrated one-line about her character. “He did say that I have a different look in the film and he is bringing in a new designer for my clothes. I am yet to sit with him and discuss the script. Being a man of perfection, he would want me to prepare myself well before getting in to the real act.” She says she would probably need to attend a workshop for some days with him.
Promotional videos are currently big in Bollywood. Is she part of the video Akshay Kumar is planning for Khatta Meetha?
Trisha confirms this and adds further, “It is being shot in Mumbai. The shooting for KM is almost over, except for two songs which will be shot on specially created sets in Mumbai during the month of April.”
