“The suspects were detained by a special task force led by Johor CID chief Senior Asst Comm II Datuk Amer Awal.
“We expect to make more arrests soon,” he told a press conference after the handing over ceremony of the Anjung Nusajaya police station here Tuesday.
DCP Mohd Mokhtar said investigations were underway and advised the public not to speculate on the incident.
On Sunday, burglars broke into a house in Kangkar Pulai and gang-raped a housewife after tying up her family.
At least eight intruders had entered the house, grabbed some knives from the kitchen and threatened the husband before waking up his wife and baby.
It is believed that six of the robbers then took turns raping the woman before fleeing with some cash and electrical items.
The husband rushed the woman to the hospital where a police report was lodged.
