Cops bust heroin and prostitution syndicate with arrest of six
A drug-trafficking and prostitution syndicate was busted with the seizure of 1kg of heroin and arrest of six syndicate members, including two Indonesian women.
Kota Tinggi deputy OCPD Deputy Supt Muhammad Shamsudin said the two women detained had been used for prostitution.
“We believe the syndicate supplied drugs and women to their clients. Initial investigations revealed that the syndicate also offered sex services to their drug clients when the drug supply was low,” he said.
“We are investigating how the women were obtained and through which entry point.”
Police had raided a house in Kampung Lukut Cina here at about 2pm on Monday.
Four local men and the two women aged between 31 and 54 were arrested.
Police then discovered a box filled with the drugs at the back of a Proton Iswara, which belonged to one of the suspects.
They also seized two cheques amounting to RM49,000 believed to be payment for a previous drug transaction.
DSP Muhammad added the syndicate had been operating for more than three months, and had supplied drugs and women to surrounding areas and in Johor Baru.
Police are expected to round up more syndicate members, he said.
