ACTOR Brad Pitt has reportedly bought a 'bachelor pad' in the Hollywood Hills for $US1.1 million (S$1.51 million), reported entertainment media on Wednesday.
According to a report in The Courier-Mail newspaper, Pitt's new home comes complete with a 'cave' and a source is reported as saying it 'oozes character'.
'Brad has had his eye on it for some time but he decided now was the right time to buy because he wanted a place to call his own,' the source is reported as saying. 'He needs somewhere quiet that doesn't have memories of Angie where he can be alone and think about what he does next.'
The house was built in 1920 and has two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a bar area; the cave is built into the foundations, reported news.com.au.
This news comes days after reports that Pitt is in the process of separating from his long-term partner, Angelina Jolie. Other reports, however, have said that the pair remain happily together.
It has also been reported that Pitt's mother, Jane, despite rumours she dislikes Jolie, is attempting to help her son save the relationship. According to The Courier-Mail, Mrs Pitt became closer to Jolie when the two set up a cancer centre together.
