Aiming high: Priyanka Bulgannwar


Priyanka Bulgannawar is brimming with confidence. The reason — the shooting of Priyanka’s third Kannada film Oscar has been completed and she expects to become busy in Sandalwood with its success.

The upcoming artiste made her debut in Kannada films with Marujanma, directed by A R Babu. She acted as heroine opposite Nagakiran while Ashok Kheny played the character of a Maharaja. Though Priyanka put all her efforts into the role, it failed at the box office.

Her second film Atheetha is yet to be released.

Meanwhile, she made her debut in Telugu films with Kshudra, a suspense thriller. It was learnt that the film did well in the border areas but was not released in Bangalore due to reasons best known to the distributor.

Now, Priyanka is cast as heroine opposite Ashok, who is also making his debut as a hero.

Ashok had earlier played a small role in Taj Mahal which became a huge success at the box office.

Another Priyanka, who acted in Kabaddi, and Sangeetha Shetty also have roles in Oscar.

When asked whether Priyanka Bulgannwar is happy with the importance given to her character in Oscar, she said, “There are two more heroines but I am the first heroine who gets more importance in this film. I am very happy with the role I got.’’ Krishna, who worked as associate for many directors, also makes his debut as an independent director with this film.

The director says that the film is about a young author and his struggles to get recognition. “We come across many talented people who fail to get recognition from the society. With this film, I am not only portraying the problems of writers and authors but also conveying a message to the society on the need to recognise talent without bias,’’ says Krishna, adding that all the artistes have acted well in this film sans any difficulties.

The film is expected to release shortly.
