An ex-detective, who has been jailed for molesting and raping four women, was slapped with another one-year jail term for hacking into the police force's database.
Leung Lai-chung, 31, was found guilty of obtaining the contacts of eight female complainants and suspects from the database without permission.
His victims included three teenagers and a 21-year-old woman.
A Hong Kong court sentenced him to one-year imprisonment on Tuesday after he pleaded guilty to eight counts of accessing a computer with dishonest intent, Ming Bao reported.
Leung, a CID constable based at Mong Kok police station of the Special Administrative Region, had committed the crime in October and November 2008.
He had used his superior's password to enter the police force's computer database 64 times and obtained the information on the women, aged between 16 and 22.
He then asked the women to go to the police station on the pretext of discussing the cases they were involved in.
At the police station, he would bring the women to a room used for identification parades.
Leung, who was described by a judge as sexual predator, had sexually attacked the victims in the room.
In one of the incidents, the 17-year-old victim's mother had waited outside the room whiile he molested the teenager behind closed doors.
Leung's activities came to an end after he raped the 19-year-old victim, who lodged a report against him.
In September last year, he was sentenced to 12 years' jail for raping the teenager and molesting three other women.
