Man hacks girlfriend's Facebook profile

38-year-old man hacked into his ex-girlfriend's profile at a popular social networking site and changed her status to 'gay' and demanded money to restore her true online identity.

The plan by Paul Franco backfired when his girlfriend, Jessica Zamora-Anderson pushed by her family decided to report the matter to the cops, 'The New York Post' reported.

"Half the people in my country have heard about this. He changed all of my personal information and said I was interested in women," Zamora-Anderson, 30 a native of Guatemala was quoted by the paper.

Franco has been arrested on charges of coercion and harassment.

"I got a lot of requests for relationships with women --and he was the one accepting them," she said adding her ex-boyfriend was spamming her friends and family.

Zamora-Anderson met Franco on Facebook in November 2008 when he posed as a 29-year-old college English teacher.

The relationship ended in November last year when Franco threw a phone at his girlfriend's head causing injury.

But Franco kept the relationship going by blackmailing Zamora-Anderson that he would make their sex tapes public and exhorting money from her, which she paid, the Post said.

When Franco demanded more money after hacking the profile Zamora-Anderson went to the cops and told authorities that she had been beaten throughout the relationship.
